Kingsley Village Apartment Complex

Kingsley Village was our first mission work in west Atlanta. We began with the summer program in June 2004. We are actively involved in the afterschool program at Kingsley Village. We help the children with their homework, play games, do crafts, sing songs and learn about Jesus and the Bible. Over the next several months, we will be discussing honor. At the Kids Honor Club, we will learn how God wants us to treat others with honor. Our theme verse will be, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves." Phillippians 2:3.

Over the last five years, there have been several different managers and owners at Kingsley Village but God has always blessed us with management open to our continued work there (except for a brief four month period). We have hosted several special events each year such as Happy Birthday Jesus parties, Valentine's Day Parties, Easter Egg Hunts, etc. We have also conducted a ladies on-site Bible study and will be starting an on-site parenting class soon. Several of the Kingsley children ride the van to church with us.. Several have actually moved to nearby neighborhoods but are still able to ride to church with us. On alternating months, we host a boys or girls night out. Before Wednesday evening church, I take them out for a fast food supper. The kids always love this and it is a great way to connect and talk about what is going on with them in school, etc.
